Weegar-Eide has completed EOR projects for customers ranging from one of the largest integrated oil/gas companies in the world, to a mid-sized operator in Central Texas. EOR projects typically require the development and understanding of the local geological and hydrogeological framework to successfully achieve the project goals. The following are brief descriptions of some of the EOR projects worked on by Weegar-Eide:
Summary of Recent Projects
- Weegar-Eide provided geological and hydrogeological framework development, modeling support, and permitting support for a new water flood/pressure maintenance project. The project was performed for an independent oil and gas producer and was associated with a mature hydrocarbon field in Central Texas.
- Weegar-Eide provided technical support for a major oil and gas company for several EOR projects in Texas related to the recovery of heavy crude oil. Project requirements included the development of comprehensive geological and hydrogeological models utilizing subsurface datasets, identification of potential environmental hazards, and development of mitigation strategies.
- Weegar-Eide provided technical support for an EOR project in the Piceance Basin of northwestern Colorado. Project requirements included the development of a comprehensive geological model utilizing well log data for site selection of potential EOR and acid gas disposal facilities.
